Porth School among a raft of projects for demolition team
Wye Valley Demolition teams have been making good progress on several projects in September - here is a sample from some of them...

PORTH SCHOOL - SOUTH WALES - The team has now moved on to full demolition (above). Having already completed demo of a small block and link corridor to the main school, we are now busy demolishing the Sports Hall.
A few challenges have arisen with extra asbestos found and having to work around school drop-off times now the children have returned after the summer break, but Justinas Pipinis, Kyle McGovern and the team are progressing very well. Work is scheduled for a few more weeks and will hopefully lead to more work from Kier.

POST HOUSE - LYONSHALL - Leigh Daines and Tyler Fox are demolishing a wooden barn for a private customer.
It is not a massive job, but as it is on a
residential property, the task requires care and attention to detail, as well as protecting the client’s driveway and garden from machinery tracks etc. That meant Ashley Davies and Terry Davies certainly had their work cut out in the planning stages.

JOHN HAIDER BUILDING - HEREFORD - We are still stripping the building back to a brick shell, with the third floor completed and the second floor well underway. Again, there were a lot of unexpected challenges for Shane Higgins and the team to deal with, especially working in such a tight space, and in full glare of the public and the local press! We are scheduled for two more weeks' work here, and demolition is on track.

SANDPITS AVENUE - LUDLOW - Stuart Crowe and Brad Frost have completed pre-renovation works on four more local authority houses in Ludlow for G P Thomas, by grinding off asbestos floor tiles in the kitchen and bathroom areas, and leaving the areas clean and tidy ready for the client to complete the next stage. We are now on to the fifth property.

COMPLETED WORKS
Leigh, 'Dixie' (Neil Jones) and Hugh Sanderson spent a Sunday morning removing the Retinal Scanner Trailer from outside Hereford County Hospital for Sodexo (above). This involved sectioning off the area, removing the side panels, checking the trailer would roll, having been in the same place for years, and safely removing it from site, whilst the public were walking nearby, accessing the hospital. A fantastic example of co-operation between WVD and Lamorak.
Meanwhile, Kyle and the team recently spent a few days at Evans Halshaw Ford in Merthyr (below), removing old asbestos floor coverings in offices and clearing toilets, ready for renovation to begin, all whilst the dealership remained open to the public. We’ll be back again in a few weeks for more demolition works for 7Formation Ltd.
